Petrol Ofisi’s October 10 reference for European Istanbul puts diesel at TRY 96.60 and gasoline at TRY 83.80. The gap is TRY 640 on 50 liters; diesel costs TRY 676.20 per 100 km at an assumed 7 L/100 km.

the 50-liter recommended reference cost in European Istanbul is TRY 4,830 for diesel and TRY 4,190 for gasoline, a TRY 640 gap. This does not mean diesel and gasoline vehicles consume the same amount, or that every station must charge one identical price.

- Petrol Ofisi’s October 10 table lists diesel at TRY 96.60/L, gasoline at TRY 83.80/L and autogas at TRY 41.20/L in European Istanbul. These are VAT-inclusive recommended references; dealer prices may differ.
- At the same 50-liter volume, diesel costs TRY 4,830 and gasoline TRY 4,190. The TRY 640 gap isolates product prices; it excludes differences in real-world fuel economy, maintenance and vehicle purchase cost.
- Decision 11606 sets diesel excise at TRY 6/L in October, TRY 9/L in November and TRY 12/L in December. The tax schedule is official; future pump prices also depend on product prices, FX, margins and other inputs.

What do diesel and gasoline cost on October 10?
Petrol Ofisi’s current table lists V/Max Diesel at TRY 96.60/L and 95-octane gasoline at TRY 83.80/L in European Istanbul. The values are TRY 96.50 and TRY 83.60 in Asian Istanbul, TRY 97.70 and TRY 84.80 in Ankara, and TRY 98.00 and TRY 85.10 in Izmir. These are VAT-inclusive recommended prices. EPDK separately defines distributors’ ceiling or recommended declarations and actual pump prices collected from station automation systems.
What does a 50-liter fill cost?
At the European Istanbul reference, 50 liters of diesel cost TRY 4,830 and 50 liters of gasoline cost TRY 4,190. The cash outlay for the same diesel volume is TRY 640 higher. Fifty liters of diesel cost TRY 4,825 in Asian Istanbul, TRY 4,885 in Ankara and TRY 4,900 in Izmir. A 50-liter tank does not mean every purchase is a full fill; the actual bill scales with liters bought.
Cost per 100 and 1,000 kilometers
Assuming 7 L/100 km for both vehicles solely to isolate price, 100 km cost TRY 676.20 with diesel and TRY 586.60 with gasoline in European Istanbul—a TRY 89.60 gap. At the same assumption, 1,000 km cost TRY 6,762 with diesel and TRY 5,866 with gasoline. Engine type, vehicle weight, traffic, speed, load and driving style change real consumption; this comparison does not decide which vehicle to buy.
What does this mean for households and businesses?
For a household, the cleanest budget estimate multiplies actual liters bought over the last three months by the current price. A driver using 70 liters of diesel a month faces a TRY 6,762 fuel budget at the European Istanbul reference. A small fleet buying 1,000 liters a month spends TRY 96,600 on fuel alone. Total logistics cost also includes labor, maintenance, financing, tolls and empty mileage.
November and December diesel excise schedule
Presidential Decision 11606 published by the Revenue Administration sets diesel excise at TRY 6/L in October, TRY 9/L from November 1–30, TRY 12/L from December 1–31 and TRY 13.9006/L from January 1, 2027. This fixes the tax amount, not a future pump price. Refinery values, foreign exchange, distribution and dealer margins, and other costs can move in different directions over the same period.
Why we do not assert one nationwide overnight increase
The official current-price table shows today’s recommended values; it does not explain one cause for the change or publish one compulsory overnight amount for every station. This analysis therefore uses the verified October 10 price and transparent cost formulas. A figure circulating in news or social media should not be presented as final without matching the same distributor, same region and consecutive official dates.
Which channels matter for companies and portfolios?
Fuel costs can affect gross margins in trucking, delivery, agriculture and other diesel-intensive services, but the company impact varies with consumption, pricing power, contracts and hedging. One pump-price observation cannot justify the same earnings or share-price direction for an entire sector. This article is not investment advice.
