Different comparison windows
Company formations increased 5.4% over January–September from a year earlier. September alone fell 2.6% year-on-year but rose 3.2% from August. The figures describe different windows.
Before starting a business
Formation counts are not a forecast of your business’s profitability. Budget separately for premises, staff, stock and financing, then allow for collection delays. Turnover is not the same as profit.
A statistical boundary
Company closures are not interchangeable with bankruptcies or applications for creditor protection. Companies, cooperatives and sole-proprietor commercial businesses are separate groups. This is general reporting, not personalised business or investment advice.
