What changed?

The index fell 3.2 points to 155.2. Assessments of recent activity and demand weakened; expected demand contributed positively. Responses were collected October 1–16, before the October 22 rate decision.

What it does not measure

This is a survey of financial firms, not a measure of household confidence, bank revenue or loan growth. A change in points is not the same as a percentage contraction.

For savers and borrowers

Compare actual bank offers over the same amount and term, including fees, taxes and conditions. The survey alone does not determine your deposit return or borrowing cost. It is not an investment recommendation.
